welcome to your final

Part 1: Written Reflection

Due date: final exam day.
Length: Answer the REQUIRED PROMPT and choose TWO of the additional CHOICE PROMPTS.
Grading Criteria: Because this class has no points, it’s obviously completion. But because you’re going to be arguing for your actual grade in this class, it might be worth your time to think and write clearly, edit your work, and proofread for distracting errors. (It makes little sense to argue that you've exceeded expectations by submitting a haphazardly-written rationale. See what I mean?)

REQUIRED PROMPT (answer this one): Have you gone above and beyond the contract requirements this semester? Does your work show not only technical proficiency but also something extra? If so, how? Please use specific examples as evidence. If you want to embed or attach pictures or screenshots, you’re welcome to do that.
CHOICE PROMPTS (choose two):

  1. Tell me about an accomplishment this semester that makes you proud. Why? Use examples and explain yourself fully.
  2. Describe one lesson or idea from this class that you find especially meaningful, significant, cool, or otherwise memorable. What makes that idea stand out from the rest of the class content? Use examples and explain yourself fully.
  3. What unexpected challenges did you encounter this semester? How did you overcome them? Use examples and explain yourself fully.
  4. Much of the “content” in this class is specific to broadcast and video technology, but a lot of it also could be applied or transferred to other disciplines or areas of study. Try to think of one thing you learned that has application in some other area of life. Describe that thing, and explain its other application. Use examples and explain yourself fully.
  5. We’ve had to move very quickly this semester, and we’ve covered a lot of ground. If you could explore one area of this class in more detail what would it be? Put another way, what do you want to know more about? Why?

part 2: surveys and cte documentation

The state of Kansas and the Blue Valley Schools want to collect information from all students enrolled in CTE courses (CTE stands for Career and Technical Education). Please take the following surveys.
  1. General survey for all students in CTE courses.
  2. Survey specifically for students in media production/visual arts/design/IT courses.
